Wow how time flies when you're having fun or rather when life has you running in a multitude of directions.
Since my last posting here is what has occurred:
-competed at the OPA Provincial championships
-moved my eldest Kaitlyn down to the University of South Carolina Aiken where she is a freshman majoring in Nursing and playing varsity soccer with the USCA women's soccer team
-completed LRNT 501 & 502
-transitioned to the completely online portion of MALAT
-started LRNT 503
-returned to OPG on contract in Radiation Protection so I get to play with gamma, beta, alpha and neutrons now
-started a new course with second year Police Foundations students at Durham College
-am just plain old busy with life as a mother and wife
I am enjoying the online team work portion (though challenging) at times, of LRNT 503. This course is way out of my element as I don't and nor have I ever planned a program. It certainly is a challenge academically and mentally. The biggest obstacle I can say is keeping up with the reading for this course. It seems to be endless and I keep reminding myself that June 2017 is not far off so the light, though way in the distance is visible. Ah what doesn't kill us makes us stronger.
I field a lot of questions from family, acquaintances and co-workers as to why on earth I'd tackle a masters at this point in my life. My response ...."why not?". Some think I am crazy, others don't understand and yet I inspire many more. I truly believe we are life long learners and why not push ourselves outside of our comfort zone. Who knows what the future holds or where this will lead me, but for now I am enjoying (and yes hating at times) the journey.
Not a very academic post ....my apologies, but sadly I must return to my Cafferella and Daffron (2013) readings :-)
Cheers!
